Birth doulas are the people who hold your hand. We walk you through all the unexpected stress, educate you about the hormonal changes of the body, esteem the joys of childbearing, provide educational sources on how to labor with positive outcomes and intentional ground breaking results.
I have accepted my job not only to help you get through birth, but to walk with you from start of pregnancy through the shallow end of postpartum as you become the new centerpiece of parenthood.
Empowerment, education, and hands-on care are a few key things a doula can provide in a way no one else can. Whether that means teaching you about your fluctuating hormones that has major impacts on a mother's mood in early pregnancy or preparing foods that enhance postpartum recovery. A doula’s role is always to stay humble as we assist in helping your steps towards recovery in the way that you so desire.
The real reason for me to even get involved in the doula business is to bring awareness that there is help for pregnant mother's not only mother's but first time dad's. Let's just spread the butter cream icing all over the red velvet cake having supportive families and loyal friends whether large or small are at the front on the lunch lines. The smallest of "do you need anything" or "call me if you need me" are wrapped in the fluffiest, warmest, and softest " I care about you" blankets of all times.
I can remember not having any emotional support during my pregnancy and let me tell you with all of the joy's, sorrows, fears, and excitement wrapped up in one tight burrito was really tough. There are many things you can prepare for better with continuous support like educating yourself on birthing classes or what a doula does and why having this support is a game changer. In my opinion having another shoulder to lean on is a rather brilliant way to start. I speak for myself when I say " If I had known then what I know now" I would have had a doula just to understand more of what to expect before, during and after childbirth. This is what I am offering but also demanding the super hero mom which is you to arrive and be awesome, confident , relaxed and in the know like right now cause only intelligent, strong, and powerful women get the whole story not just a piece of one.
I Love to read and write outside of being a Doula. I relax go to the movies, listen to music mostly saxophone jazz. I check in on my associates and ask how they are doing. I find a nursing home to visit patients who has no family. I drive the school bus all elementary students whom I simply adore. The young ladies be dressed to impress with their bows in their hair, their bell bottom pants and stylish boots. The young gentleman have on their stylish hats and hoodie's with their name brand shoe's mostly Jordan's and if they prefer casual believe it or not #1 choice cowboy boots lol no matter the level their on I am here for it all and I will always keep them close to my heart.
I love to eat fruits, veggies, and make healthy smoothies. I find that eating this way gives you more energy as our bodies change each day you know sort of like the weather. One day it is intensely sunny and gloomy the next but our job is to weather the storm just like our job is to eat right and strengthen our bodies. Speaking of strength I been doing great with wall pilates to help me concentrate on strengthening my body's core as I read upon what all it could help with I was sold. I really like the fact that these exercises are low impact and very effective as it targets posture, balance and flexibility. You should try pilates if you been injured and maybe we can exchange stories about how they make you feel later on. TTYS
