I'd love to hear from you! Contact me here and we can set up a time to chat more about how doula2day services might help you.
Yes! Doulas and midwives perform completely separate jobs. A midwife is a trained medical professional who is able to deliver babies and perform a variety of procedures. Doulas offer physical and emotional support, but do not perform any medical tasks or interfere with them. Midwives and doulas love to work together.
Doulas support all kinds of births. While many clients are hoping to have unmedicated or even home births, everyone can benefit from a doula. Remember that doulas do much more than pain relief during birth- education about the process, postpartum help and support, and other roles are also a part of the package.
Doulas are in no way meant to take on the same role as your partner. Your partner knows you, your comforts, your emotions, and what you need better than anyone and will be a huge part of your birth. Doulas come with knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum that your partner may not have and help them find the best way to apply that knowledge to you. We love to work with partners, giving them tips for comfort measures and empowering them to be a part of the journey.
Birth doula's are non-medical professionals trained to help support you throughout your pregnancy and during birth. Doulas focus on the emotional, informational and educational experience of your journey toward parenthood. Exceptional resources are provided to improve your pregnancy and overall birth experience.
